I knew I would be charged for InstantHookups

I am glad I could help identify this charge for you.

If you could leave a comment with the website URL where you signed up for the “free” service below, that will help others.  Also if the scenario is different than I described, that helps a lot too.

Hopefully you can see that your personal and financial information is at risk.     RocketGate and perhaps some unknown entity with a published  privacy policy, and unknown security practices has your personal and financial information.  You need to sever ties with this company.  I also recommend that you sign up for a credit monitoring service.

Here is what you need to do now.

Pay the bill

The fact that you might have forgotten about a trial membership doesn’t affect  your obligation to pay.

Cancel the service

The charges are recurring monthly fees.  They will show up again on your credit card statement if you do not act quickly.

Cancel your credit card

I know this is going to be a hassle, but I believe it is necessary.  The primary reason is that you do not know who has access to your credit card information.  This creates the possibility of Identity Theft in the future.  This could be thru an overt act on the part of the  someone at one of the companies that has your credit card, or an inadvertent act because of lax security policies and practices.  There is no accountability in  this situation.

Sign up for a Credit Monitoring Service

Remember, we do not know who really has access your personal financial information.    In the US, state laws generally require measures to prevent a breach, and reactive measures if there is a breach, including notifying you if your data was compromised.  RocketGate is not is not obligated under these laws.

Here is a link to Identity Guard, a leading credit monitoring company.

Note I do not have an affiliate relationship with Identity Guard; I receive no compensation if you choose to sign up with the service.  I believe this is the smart thing to do.

To the extent that you can support this site, it is greatly appreciated.  Following me on Instagram or Twitter is also very helpful. Thank you and good luck.

I spoke to the customer service twice and they confirmed that they had removed my information from their account and cancelled it so I wont be billed. They also said the 50 dollar charge will be removed in 7 business days. But I am scared that will they actually do it or are they just saying that they will? Did anyone get their money refunded?

I found a payment made on a credit card in the name of quotabux. I deleted the profile from the adult site (incontricupid), but I have no idea how to cancel the quotabux subscription … is it sufficient to block the credit card?

Besides cancel the cards and talk to the banks, try to cancel the services and get identity support services, is there anything else important you would recommend victims to do?

What the hell is premier passport and inboxparter…? Also they signed me up to sweetdiscreet.com, which seems to me not really one of these shell sites tho, looks a little bit more legit than those

i dont really know what inbox partners is. All I know is that it appears in the T&C in various scams. I do not know anything of the quality of sweetdiscreet. Sweet Discreet is owned and operated by Media Crush Digital, Nicosia Cyprus.

Do I need to worry about the free offers accounts? I can see in your post that these scam verification pages gives you a lot of offers at the same time, some of them will charge you weekly/monthly but some will be free life time. Since i got sign up to them unknowingly I have no idea what they signed me up to..I want to delete those free ones too what can I do? Kinda paranoid here. (I lost all those links and deleted my emails already, besides as you said they rotate too)
ps already cancelled cards and got identity protection .

I cancelled everything with them and got a confirmation email with confirmation numbers and everything. Everything seems okay now. But I’m paranoid, did they actually cancel everything or are they just saying the did?

Since I do not have anything to do with these sites, there is no way for me to tell. Your question is a good illustration of why I make the recomendations of
      – cancel your card
      – opt out of card updater
      – get id theft protection service

I signed up for what I thought was a one month trial for an adult site, the person I was talking to started to worry me, so I deleted my email involved and didn’t think about it. It did ask me if I wanted a 2 day free trial, I thought once the 2 days were up I would only be charged for one month. I shared some very embarrassing comments and pictures with this person and because I’m such an idiot, I delete my email and have no copy of the billing agreement…..this is completely out of character for myself, I just had a weak moment., I’m scared to death of what comes next and have no clue what to do. Iv never gotten myself into a situation Like this. All I got is access to the profile I originally signed into….I really need someone to talk to about this. Holiday weekend, banks closed, and the whole situation is going to be so humiliating to explain. Please contact me!

Nothing to panic over. My recommendation is in this post
      https://theonlinedatingscams.com/instanthookup-authorized/

Your bank customer care center will be open to cancel your card.

For your profile all you can do is delete your pictures and information. Then delete your profile, there should be a customer service number or contact at the site you have access to.
