Here is what you see when you first enter the site
Here is what the site says that it does
Here are the membership options
It is hard to see, but the options have check boxes to pick your membership type. They are meaningless. It is just a shell website with some check box code. Nothing changes, nothing is done with the check box selection, it is not connected to anything.
Next you are asked to create a user name, password and provide an email in the “Free Verification Process”,
Next, you are asked to enter your credit card to verify.
I ask you to notice the area around the Visa and MasterCard logos. (There is nothing.) Next I will show you what is really there.
Where you really are:
Thru use of a programming command called iFrame, you and your credit card are really at a different website. The iFrame creates a window in the site you see, to a website that you do not see. Said differently, the iFrame command directs your credit card to a different site, without you knowing. Here is the iFrame in the Discreet Dating Affirmation website.
It is a little hard to read (the code is very sloppy). I have highlighted the important parts.
- JoinSafelyOnline controls what is being displayed in the window.
- Scrolling=no prevents you from scrolling inside the iFrame window, and thus seeing what I will show you next.
The Discreet Dating Affirmation Charges are Deliberately Hidden
if you click on the iFrame link in the source code, you find where you really are. After you enter a User and email, here is what the credit card entry really looks like:
Notice that the website URL has changed, and there is more being displayed:
- You are really at shnvme.com when you enter your credit card
- There are charges of $39.99. It doesn’t say it here, but that is a per month charge.
