FAQ

Why do you not respond to a contact email

Contact functions on websites are primarily for inquiries on the operation of the site. I also appreciate when someone identifies a new or different aspect to a scam. Collaboration and crowd sourcing of information helps everyone.

There are two types of emails that will never get a response:

1. You asked me to give you a refund or stop the charges. Such a request means that you did not read the article you found when you were searching for the charge on your statement. Had you actually read the article you would have found that this site and author have nothing to do with the charge that appeared on your card. I consider such a request frivolous. While it is only one in every 9,000 readers, there are enough of them to consume too much of my time. Also, the persons who do this tend to want to argue with me over it. No thank you.

2. You asked me for advice on what to do. The articles about the websites contain all of the advice I have. Similar to the above, such a request makes me wonder if you actually read the article in the first place.

Why do my comments not appear?

Do you have a recommendation to what Dating Site or App I should use?

No

I might post some information about a site, it might or might not be flattering.  There are plenty of review sites out there. Just remember, that other sites, particularly review sites, have the sole purpose of having you to click thru to sign up to one of their recommended sites.  Please judge the site content accordingly.

Also, many dating sites are branded presentations for White Label dating services.  It is these dating services companies that are at the root of most of the “get verified” scams you have seen on this site.   You can read why that is the case, in this Date Verification Scam article.

Will you help me get a refund or help me stop the charge.

No.

Is Ronin your real name?

No, it is my pen name. This is primarily due to fact that my day job is for one of America’s largest financial institutions.  My job has provided me with a wealth of digital life experience, and gives me up-to-the minute insights on cyber-threats.  That said, I don’t want any of my Magazine to be intermingled with the Bank, and neither do they. I can never discuss what our responses are to digital threats.

Also as you might imagine, I have irritated more than a few people by exposing their scams or scam sites.  I am sure they would make trouble for me if they could.

For now, I will need to let the quality of my posts and research speak for themselves.
